Security Officer - Local Airport $16.50 / hr

PERKS :

• Pay Rate : $16.50 -$18.50 HR

CURRENT OPENINGS :

• Varied Weekday and Weekend shifts
• First Shift
• 10 : 30am-5 : 30pm
• Second Shift
• 5 : 30pm-Midnight / Last Flight (can be midnight or 3 AM for last flight)
• Third Shift
• 4 : 30am-10 : 30am
• Part-Time (16-29 hours / week) ACA FT (30-39 hours / week)
• Other Hours may be available

LOCATION : Kentwood, MI

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES : As an unarmed Security Officer at DK Security, your duties may vary depending on the site you are working.

Officers at this site will be working multiple customer service positions.

Additional responsibilities may include :

• Access Control - Ensure only authorized individuals are allowed access to the site and ensuring vehicles leaving facilities are not leaving with unauthorized goods and materials.
• Foot Patrol - Walk the interior and exterior of the various buildings on site, keeping an eye out for security, safety, or maintenance issues.
• Monitor Exit Lanes - Access control of visitors trying to re-enter concourse
• Vehicle Inspections - Random screening of vehicle entering the facility.

SUCCESS as a Security Officer at DK Security will look like :

• Reliability - Report for your shift on time, presentable, and in the prescribed uniform.
• Friendly Personality - Being able to balance our expectations of outstanding customer service while maintaining client policies and enforcing rules.
• Following Company and Client Policies - Be able to read and interpret written post guidelines, follow procedures as outlined and ensure all tasks are completed throughout the shift.
• Use of De-escalation Techniques - Being able to defuse situations through verbal judo and other communication tactics.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Must have either a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• May NOT have any felony convictions and must be able to pass a criminal background check in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Must be able to successfully pass a drug test at the time of hire and randomly thereafter.
• Must present a friendly, positive, and professional image.
• Must be willing to become CPR / 1

Aide / AED Certified

• Must have a valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
• Less than 2 at-fault accidents in the last 3 years
• No other major violations in the last 3 years.
• Physical Requirements :
• Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the duration of the shift, including walking long distances, and possibly up and down stairs
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be readily able to respond to emergency situations
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

• In-Office Orientation
• Basic Officer Training - Video and Hands-on training regarding skills and techniques important for all Security Officers.
• Meet with our HR Team - Complete your onboarding process, in-house drug testing, issuing of uniforms, and photo ID badge, meet with your Operations Manager.
• On the Job Training (OJT) - Depending on the site location, you will complete anywhere from 2-40 hours of On-The-Job training, learning the client-specific policies and procedures of the location you're assigned to.
