Position:Technical Writer
Start Date: Immediate
Duration: Permanent, Full-Time
Work Location: 100% On-Site in Columbia, MD

DK Consulting, LLC works with multiple State, Federal, and Commercial customers and our services range from providing customers with that one ‘critical resource’ to assuming responsibility for an entire IT project. Position Overview: The Technical Writer responsibilities include proofreading, quality assurance, quality control, editing, and occasional writing for various technical/non-technical documents. This role will work closely with management and the recruiting department.

Responsibilities:

  • Proofread and QA documents to ensure proper grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation.
  • Format technical and non-technical documents using pre-established templates while adhering to DK Consulting and client guidelines.
  • Manage the internal candidate resume repository including new hires, terminations, transfers, etc.
  • Assist with reviewing, formatting, writing, and/or editing of proposals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a Major in English, Journalism, Mass Communication, Technical Writing, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with proofreading and editing technical and non-technical documents.
  • Experience with proposal preparation and formatting
  • Proficient in MS Word with specific knowledge of Reference, Review, and Developer tools
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with a high volume of documents in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized and process-oriented
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills
  • A self-starter with organizational skills to successfully juggle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting tight and variable timelines
  • Prior experience proofreading and editing resumes
  • Prior experience with proposal writing and support 
  • General understanding of reviewing, formatting, writing, and/or editing of proposals
  • Prior experience working with the government or within the IT industry
