JOB ID: 541
POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Accountant I will assist the Senior Accountant with the administrative functions of the Tax Department.
Special focus will be placed on:
  • Processing of property tax bills for payment
  • Submission of payment requests through Open Invoice and coordination of check cutting with AP
  • Distribution and tracking of incoming and outbound correspondence, including tax payments
  • Daily maintenance of the departmental email account
  • Communication with tax jurisdictions and well operators to ensure accuracy of DEC’s contact information
  • Monthly tax accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Other tax projects on an ad hoc basis
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelors degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Experience in the midstream and upstream oil and gas industry is preferred.
    • Motivated self-starter possessing strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
    • Ability to function independently with minimal direction, as well as in a team environment.
    • Must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical skills.
    • Must take the initiative to meet internal deadlines consistently; demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines.
    • Must be flexible to grown and expand with company needs.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required; advanced knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting software systems is required
    • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
