The Port Agent is responsible for preparing all entrance and clearance paperwork while informing local Customs, Immigration, and all other Governmental Authorities that by law or custom of the trade should be notified as to the arrival of the Vessel, as well as give any and all notices that may be required.
Responsibilities:Arrange for any pilots, tugs, line-handlers, and fenders as may be required and requested by the Master in his pre-arrival communication
Arrange for Authorities to clear the Vessel (Immigration, Customs, Heath), without delay, and advise in advance of paperwork and other details that are required by the Authorities in order to minimize delays
Guide and assist all passengers, officers, and crew of the Vessel with the procedures for the clearing of local Customs and Immigration
Receive and handle on behalf of the Vessel, all mail packages, courier deliveries, and goods sent to the Company and to forward the same to the Vessel upon arrival or during its stay in port
Arrange for garbage, sludge, or bilge water removal if requested by the Master prior to the arrival of the Vessel in port
Arrange for potable water, bunker oil, as per Vessel's requirements
Order repair facilities and or services engineers for the Vessel as may be requested in writing by Disney Cruise Line (DCL) or the Master
Generally perform such other activities as are required to enable the Vessel to enter, remain, and leave the port in the ordinary course
Arrange for any hospitalization, medical consultations, and ambulance transportation for any passengers, officers, or crew for whom the Master or Vessel Physician may request such service
Arrange for hotel reservations and transportation of passengers, officers, or crew as may be requested in writing by DCL or by the Master
Be available to DCL upon the arrival of the Vessel, and throughout the day until the Vessel's departure
Proven knowledge and strong understanding of U.S Customs, U.S Immigration, and U.S Agriculture policies, procedures, and processes
Minimum three years’ experience in husbandry agency operations within a passenger vessel setting
24 hour on call availability
Experience in Guest logistics operations
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Disney Cruise Line product knowledge
Demonstrated strong organizational, decision making, analytical and problem solving, as well as continuous improvement process skills
Proven ability to be a self-starter with minimal supervision and follow-up
Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, successfully meeting deadlines
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights and holidays
Demonstrated strong partnership/networking and interpersonal relations skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Cruise line experience
Proven ability to interact with various governmental and regulatory agencies
Proven ability to interact with all levels of shipboard and shore side Management
High School degree or equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree
