DISCOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES is Hiring a Cyber Security Consultant Near Greensboro, NC

Background:

Discovery Support Services is supporting a client "The City of Greensboro" and is committed to ensuring the utmost security of its digital infrastructure and recognizes the need for a flexible and comprehensive approach to cybersecurity services. In pursuit of this goal, the City is open to considering various service delivery options that can adapt to our dynamic cybersecurity needs. Provide with robust defense mechanisms required to protect against current and emerging threats.

Responsibilities:

Risk Assessments: Conduct detailed evaluations of the City’s digital infrastructure to

identify potential security threats, vulnerabilities, and weaknesses. Employ the latest

methodologies and tools to provide a thorough analysis and prioritized recommendations

for mitigating risks.

Penetration Testing: Execute systematic and controlled attacks on the City’s network

and applications to discover vulnerabilities that could be exploited by malicious actors.

Include testing of both external and internal defenses and provide a comprehensive

report detailing findings and remediation strategies.

Training and Development:

Ongoing Training: Develop and deliver a comprehensive training program for the City’s

staff, focusing on cybersecurity awareness and best practices. Ensure the training is up-

to-date with the latest cyber threats and defense strategies and tailored to different roles

within the City.

Performance and Reporting:

Regular Reporting: Provide regular and detailed reports on the cybersecurity status of

the City, including activities performed, incidents handled, and overall system health.

Ensure the reports offer actionable insights and recommendations for continuous

improvement.

Performance Metrics: Define and agree upon clear performance metrics and goals for

the services provided, ensuring they are measurable and aligned with the City's

cybersecurity objectives.

Additional Support and Consultation:

Consultation Services: Offer expert advice and strategic consultation for the City's

decision-makers on cybersecurity-related matters. Include guidance on policy

development, technology investments, and best practices for maintaining a resilient

cybersecurity posture.

Emergency Support: Provide on-call emergency support services to respond rapidly to

critical cybersecurity incidents.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
