Discovery School is a private International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) School in Mansfield, Ohio. We are seeking an Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and managing a class of lower elementary students using an inquiry-based approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach and manage a class of lower elementary students using an inquiry-based approach and the IB PYP framework.
• Develop and implement a student-centered and differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of individual students.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student learning, social-emotional development, and cultural understanding.
• Assess student progress using a variety of assessment strategies and communicate student progress to parents and colleagues.
• Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to support student learning and development.
• Participate in school-wide events and initiatives, including staff meetings, professional development, and parent-teacher conferences.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• Ohio teaching certification required.
• Experience teaching in a lower elementary classroom preferred.
• Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program framework preferred.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to student-centered and inquiry-based learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
