Title: Museum Cleaner

Reports to: Operations Manager

Summary: Reporting to the Operations Manager and Head Custodian, we are looking for a driven cleaner who works closely with the operations/facilities team. Responsible for the day-to-day cleanliness of the museum.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Daily cleaning and restocking of all restrooms, including removal of trash and diaper bins
• Daily cleaning of all public, staff, and back-of-house spaces including but not limited to floors, walls, carpets, ceilings, furniture, glass, mirrors, cabinets, tables, light fixtures, doors, door hardware, chairs, elevators, exhibits
• Including but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, spill cleaning, brushing, polishing
• Cleaning of museum staff offices, cubicles, and shared spaces
• Daily trash removal from all spaces, including taking all trash to main dumpster
• Ensuring the daily cleanliness and maintenance of the museum
• Assist the Facilities and Operations Manager as needed

Qualifications:

• 1 years of janitorial experience
• Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 30 pounds
• Strong communication skills required
• Takes pride in their professional work
• Must be teachable and willing to learn processes
• Able to follow instructions

Working Conditions:

• Position requires ability to walk, stand, and vacuum for extended periods while maintaining alertness.
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing at least 30 pounds.
• Position requires bending, leaning, kneeling, twisting, and walking.
• Must be willing to assist with
• Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate needs.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
• Ideal schedule would be evenings on Tuesday/Wednesday through Sunday.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
