Discovery Education is looking for a contract Visual Designer. You will work under the supervision of an Art Lead to produce high-quality work. This position will work collaboratively with the design, curriculum and product teams to ideate and execute on creative strategies that meet department and project goals. This is a remote 6-month contract role. About the RoleWorking with the Lead Artist to capture and develop a Figma style guide for Reading and Math grades 3-5.Editing existing workfiles to make current math lessons color contrast accessible.Creating and updating the DreamBox Learning Reading Park library images.RequirementsBFA in visual Interaction design or similar field.At least 3 years related experience. Eye-catching portfolio reflecting experience in digital interaction design, and design for learning (including student and teacher resources).Figma or similar wireframing tool (required).Deep understanding of game design and related UI/U .The ability to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Creative industry experience or a background of working as part of a design team a plus. The ability to see projects through from inception to production.Good organizational skills that support the rest of the team. The motivation to maintain and improve design standards.Experience creating and utilizing comprehensive design systems and style guides across multiple areas of product. Adding to the current design system through research, wireframing and component design.The willingness to listen to feedback and use it to improve Adeptness with additional leading interaction design software: Adobe Creative Cloud, particular to Photoshop, Illustrator and Animate (preferred)Gaming design, 3D rendering, and development software could include but is not limited to Unity, Blender, Adobe AnimateBasic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScriptIllustration skills - Procreate a plusLegal right to work in the United States.
