Discovery Education's Dreambox Reading product empowers educators through skills-based digital solutions that bridge foundational literacy development with knowledge-building access. Through the program’s evidence-based instructional design, actionable data reports, and ability to embed cognitive support for all learners, Dreambox Reading provides educators and their learners with an individualized, supplemental literacy program that is effective, engaging, and accelerates learning for all students. DreamBox is designed by experienced classroom teachers who work side-by-side with talented programmers, game designers, and artists to create transformative digital lessons so that students can understand concepts in ways only possible through a digital environment.The Manager, Literacy Curriculum and Assessment is an essential leader of the Dreambox Reading team. This key individual is responsible for bringing the instructional vision and product roadmap to life. The Manager will own product planning and coordinate with cross-functional teams to bring new lessons and solution enhancements to market. Product actualization is central to this role -ensuring instructional integrity, ability to meet market needs, and technical execution are all aligned. This individual must lead the team with positivity, vision, and a relentless drive to create effective literacy experiences for all students. This is a remote role.About the RoleProduct Ownership: Own the management and development for all aspects of the Dreambox Reading solutions.Curricular & Instructional Expertise: Utilize and apply evidence-based literacy frameworks, Science of Reading research, and instructional designs to build out and scale the Dreambox Literacy vision.Technical Acumen: Ability to use technical tools, software, and technologies to move instructional designs from theory, through define and design, into the beginning states of the developing process.Program Strategy: Leverage data and customer insights to identify gaps and opportunities for product innovation.Team Leadership: Manage and evaluate team members’ capacity to meet expected deliverables aligned to business goals.Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with internal teams to define project workflows and review final product releases.Content Accuracy: Ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with educational standards and evidence-based research.Collaboration: Working closely with directors, developers, product management, and UX/UI designers to develop content and ensure instructional quality and relevance. RequirementsMaster's Degree in education, concentration in literacy or ELA preferred.7 years as a classroom educator, leader, or instructional coach.5 years in EdTech or with an organization that integrates instructional design with technology.3 years being a product or program owner.Proven experience using best practices in learning sciences to design and develop learning experiences that drive student outcomes.Experience designing literacy and/or ELA curricula, grades 3-5 or 6-8 highly preferred.Deep knowledge of evidence-based research that supports the Science of Reading and academic standards.Experience using educational technology according to effective and research-based principles of learning.Excellent writing and editing skills and the proven ability to create content from the student and teacher perspective.Familiarity with user-centered design, backward design, universal design for learning, and other frameworks and practices.Clear communication skills and a collaborative spirit, with the ability to work across groups to provide and implement feedback at nearly every phase of implementation.Legal right to work in the United States.
