Disability Support of the Great Plains, Inc. is Hiring a Client Shopper Near Hutchinson, KS

Role: To provide our clients the experience of shopping for their own groceries and personal items. Be able to insure that our clients have the correct ingredients to adhere to each client's menu.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement Person Centered Support Plans for assigned individuals.
  • Assist clients with shopping.
  • Complete documentation as required through the general course of duties.
  • Reports to the appropriate Program Manager or Case Manager any occurrences that affect the immediate well-being of the individual.
  • Attend all meetings as assigned and required.
  • When approved as a driver of agency vehicles, employee will transport individuals and adhere to rules and regulations in regards to driving Disability Supports' vehicles
  • Keep accurate ledgers of clients' funds
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Prompt, consistent attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Understand and support the mission of Disability Supports to enrich the lives of those we serve, as evidenced by an unfailing positive attitude in all actions behalf of individuals served.
  • Adhere to scheduled hours.
  • Meet agency standards of necessary supports to ensure safety, happiness, and well-being of individuals served.
  • Follow procedures for tracking funds of clients.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Time Management skills are a must.
  • Will complete all training for Direct Support Professionals.
Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: Prior direct care experience preferred, but not required. Experience with ledgers and basic accounting preferred.

Education: High School diploma equivalent preferred. math skills are required.

Interpersonal Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and individuals served. Must demonstrate compassion for individuals with disabilities.

Other Skills: Basic mathematical, grammar and computer skills required. Valid drivers license is a requirement. Must be able to meet insurance requirement per company policy.

Physical/Environmental: must be able to lift, push and/or pull a minimum of 50 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push wheelchairs and provide physical interventions on a regular basis. Noise level may vary, depending upon duty assigned.
