Description Job Summary The Senior Manager, Internal Communications supports the Senior Director, Head of Marketing & Communications with the leadership and development of an internal communications capability that: creates a consistent communications experience across Gordon Brothers provides cohesive and predictable communications that drive alignment increases awareness and understanding of Gordon Brothers and its initiatives informs employees and reflects the culture and values of the organization to help foster a deep emotional connection and support employee engagement This role supervises the Manager, Internal Communications who supports day-to-day employee communications and operations. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Internal Communications Design, build, and roll out creative employee communication programs (strategic and tactical) across Gordon Brothers global employee base. Partner with corporate functions to advise, plan, create and execute employee campaigns which support business needs (e.g. employee recognition and other HR initiatives, compliance concerns, strategic projects and organizational priorities and change management initiatives). Partner with HR to support the development of an employer brand for internal communications and external recruitment. Partner with business leaders to advise, plan, create and execute campaigns which address strategic projects, organizational priorities and change management initiatives. Build a repeatable and consistent communication process for employee transitions including new hires, departures and promotions. Build and update mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of internal communications in meeting employee and business partner needs. Build predictable rhythms of role-based communications including a robust cascading system – from leadership team meetings to the lines of business and across geographies. Gordon Brothers Intranet Partner with the Head of Marketing & Communications, the digital marketing team and HR to re-platform and optimize the company intranet. Lead the development of a communication strategy for the intranet – develop a communications calendar, establish governance, and create strategic content. Work with Manager, Internal Communications on day-to-day scheduling and portal operations. Communication Tools and Training Partner with executive leaders to provide counsel, coaching and writing support for speeches, presentations, conference calls and memos. Partner with business leaders to ensure consistency of tone. Provide counsel and offer feedback on approach and messaging about initiatives and organizational changes. Coordinate and produce the CEO’s quarterly global town halls and employee newsletter, including content development and logistics. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 8 years internal communications experience in a dispersed organization Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred. Experience as liaison for internal business partners, especially HR. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Demonstrated excellence in strategic storytelling, writing/editing, project management, change management, and multimedia communications. Digital acumen and knowledge of digital communications trends and standards/designs/best practices including user experience for web, email, mobile and social media. Ability to quickly embrace new technology and communication tools. Ability to translate high-level business strategy into targeted and easy to understand materials for various internal audiences. Ability to juggle multiple projects at one time. Strong planning and project management skills. Strong influencing skills and confidence working with C-Suite leaders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including intermediate Excel skills), WordPress, and project management tools. Physical Demands Work is performed in an office environment. Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching and prolonged periods of sitting. Infrequent light physical effort required.
