DiRosato Plumbing & Heating is looking for a Shop Associate. The Shop Associate plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient plumbing operations by managing inventory, tracking supplies, and ensuring timely restocking. This position supports plumbers and maintenance teams by providing accurate inventory data and assisting with procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management:
  • Monitor and maintain plumbing inventory levels, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, tools, and consumables.
  • Regularly update inventory records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct routine stock checks to identify shortages or excesses.
  • Supply Tracking:
  • Collaborate with plumbers and supervisors to understand project requirements.
  • Track usage of plumbing materials and tools, identifying trends and patterns.
  • Anticipate supply needs based on project schedules and upcoming tasks.
  • Ordering and Receiving:
  • Generate purchase orders for replenishing inventory.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to place orders.
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantities and quality.
  • Organization and Storage:
  • Arrange inventory items in an organized manner, ensuring easy accessibility.
  • Label shelves, bins, and storage areas for efficient retrieval.
  • Implement a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system to prevent stock expiration.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and disposals.
  • Prepare reports on stock levels, usage, and cost analysis.
  • Assist in annual inventory audits.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with plumbers, maintenance staff, and warehouse personnel.
  • Communicate any inventory-related issues promptly.
  • Provide support during emergencies or urgent repair situations.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to safety protocols when handling plumbing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Dispose of hazardous materials appropriately.

SKILLS

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Associate’s Degree (two-year college or technical school): Preferred

Computer Skills: MS Office

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy plumbing supplies.
  • Comfortable working in warehouse or storage environments.
  • Stamina to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in inventory management or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing materials and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software or spreadsheets.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Pay: From $35,000.00 per year
