Corporate Contracts Attorney - Remote

Expedition Expectations

Direct Travel, Inc. (“Direct Travel”) is seeking a motivated team member for the position of Contract Attorney for immediate hire out of the Denver area office for a fully remote position. This role will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, structuring and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including sales, vendor and procurement, IT, marketing, consulting services, etc. on behalf of Direct Travel’s global strategic partnerships, and internal and external clients.

Additionally, the Contracts Attorney will collaborate with General Counsel and advise as to the company’s contractual rights and obligations, solve complex problems, and maintain negotiation and certification records. This role will work closely with sales/account management, RFP response team, and the domestic corporate contracts manager, and report to the General Counsel. 

The ideal candidate will have a background in corporate, commercial, and data privacy law.

Passport to Success

• Serve as a key member of the contract review team with an emphasis on ensuring compliance with Direct Travel’s established policies, procedures, and tolerances as it relates to client agreements in the global context.
• Draft and finalize legal documents including client and supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, and amendments to the client, independent contractors, employees/billable workers, and suppliers, as needed
• Independently facilitate contract escalations with Direct Travel’s General Counsel and Direct Travel’s strategic partner, ATPI.
• Lead contract negotiations with clients, billable workers, independent contractors ensuring that compliance is achieved and consistency of contractual obligations are met 
• Collaborate and perform cross-functionally across organization, providing legal advice and services on legal matters and industry-specific issues.
• Maintain and manage the Direct Travel CLM, and be responsible for the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Direct Travel’s tolerance and risk levels, for numerous client accounts
• Provide support and feedback for the development and implementation of department processes and procedures, including but not limited to leading special projects, reporting, distribution of contract templates to sales, SOP updates, etc. 
• Continually meet contractual service levels and maintain compliance with other contractual requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Familiar with local, state, federal laws to ensure compliance and avoid legal complications due to non-compliance
• Familiar with local, state, federal, and international data privacy laws 
• Experience in the travel industry and/or meetings & events space
• Experience with international contracts
