Holy Family Academy seeks a part-time music teacher. Holy Family Academy is a PreK-8 Catholic parochial school ministry of Annunciation parish in the Catholic Diocese of Worcester, MA. Holy Family Academy was forged with over 100 years of academic excellence by uniting two great schools, Holy Rosary and Sacred Heart. With a holistic approach, the curriculum is centered on basic skills and enriched by faith formation and a liturgical life aimed at helping each student develop intellectually, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and socially. Instruction in the Catholic faith, Sacred Scripture, and prayer are the foundation for this whole-person approach. This teacher is responsible for the following: *Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials for weekly music classes for grades PREk-8th*Oversee student performance of liturgical music at the weekly school Mass and school chorus*Coordinate annual Christmas and spring concert or arts nightModel the Catholic faith and Gospel values for all studentsMaintain a warm, nurturing, and organized learning environmentCommunicate regularly with parents and families about their children's learningAdministrative duties (e.g., monitoring class attendance, entry of music class grades, attending staff meetings as required etc.)Monitor transitions, lunch, recess blocks, and other coverages, as neededManage student behaviorEvaluate each students' progressUtilize formative and summative assessments to drive instructional planning, monitor student learning, and provide feedback to studentsUtilize educational technology and other innovative resources to drive student learningPerform other related duties, as assignedQualifications - Candidates should have or possess: A shared dedication to the Catholic identity and mission of Holy Family AcademyA love for working with studentsStrong communication skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships with families and coworkersNote: Retired Public School Teachers Collecting Massachusetts Teacher Retirement Do not need to count hours working for a private school.
