Job Title : Kindergarten Teacher's Assistant Reports to : Lead Teacher / Principal Location : Saint Martha School Sarasota, FL Overview

assist in drawing the school community into worship and to build, support and maintain a Catholic culture throughout the School and create a vibrant Catholic culture within the classroom, emphasized through words, deeds, manner of dress and actions.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the supervision of learning activities providing assistance and support to students
• Provides instruction to students as prescribed by the Teacher and reinforces skills introduced by the Teacher.
• Assists Teacher in evaluating students’ work; works with students individually and in small groups, reinforcing skills based on instructional guidelines
• Assists in managing student behavior and maintaining class4room order
• Reinforces rules of the school and classroom; escorts students to time-out or Principal’s office
• Escorts, supervises and / or provides assistance to students during lunch breaks, restroom visits and other activities
• Assists in the preparation of lesson plans; provides input and assistance in the development of classroom activities
• Coordinates with media center staff for classroom learning resources
• Assists in preparing classroom bulletin boards, decorations, displays, etc.
• Maintains student records
• Any other task assigned by Teacher or Principal

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• 1-3 years of experience working with children
• Strong communications skills both written and oral
• Ability to work with children from Kindergarten through Middle School students
• Ability to use technology to enhance student learning
• Strong planning and organizational skills
• Undergoing a FDLE Level 2 background check
