Position: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Office Manager

Part-time 10 – 15 hours per week

FLSA: Hourly Non-exempt

General Summary: We are seeking a talented and reliable maintenance technician to join our St. Ambrose Team. In this position, your chief responsibility is to preserve the excellent condition and functionality of our Parish Campus. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades, with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, electric, plumbing and basic tools and appliances. Your duties will include conducting quality assessments, scheduling repairs and developing preventative maintenance procedures. This position will require some after-hours work for the set-up and tear-down for events.

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

Provide maintenance for all buildings with the ability to identify issues and be able to perform small repairs and know when to bring in a professional.
Coordinate and escort vendors when on campus for repairs and service.
Oversee preventive maintenance such as changing a/c filters, light bulbs and painting.
Escort insurance auditors for annual inspections.
Take Diocesan online safety classes.
Set up and tear down for parish events. This includes setting up tables, chairs and tents, making sure garbage is in outdoor dumpsters.

Maintenance Technician Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
General knowledge of HVAC systems.
Understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
Lifting and moving tables, chairs, and ladders.
Flexibility for working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Effective problem-solving abilities.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Well organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety/warning labels. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, employees, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
