Diocese of St. Augustine is Hiring a Housekeeper Near Jacksonville, FL
- Perform routine heavy cleaning – sweep, mop, scrub, shampoo carpet, dust, wash, remove trash, etc. in an assigned area
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of all company-related practices
- Physically be able to handle furniture, machines and other heavy items
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor of housekeeping Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper
- Must be able to read, interpret, and follow written instructions
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Prioritization and time management skills
- Work quickly without compromising quality
- Friendly, reliable and present a neat personal appearance
- Willingness to learn new cleaning methods and how to use various pieces of equipment.
- Must have a working knowledge of and a strong commitment to the mission of the Diocese and Catholic Church; must be in full communion with the Church.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of modern housekeeping, including hygiene requirements
- Knowledge, skills and experience in handling household equipment
- A thorough knowledge of the use of the tools and equipment associated with housekeeping
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
- Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the public
- Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must at all times; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required
