Coordinator of Youth Discipleship and Religious Education

Good Shepherd Parish, Chilton WI

30 hours/week

Good Shepherd Parish is seeking a passionate candidate who loves the Catholic Faith and desires to pass that Faith on to the next generation. This position will be responsible for overseeing the religious formation efforts of children and youth at Good Shepherd Parish. The coordinator will work closely with the pastor, parents, volunteers, and other staff members to develop and implement programs and activities that help young people grow in their relationship with God and the Catholic Church.

Knowledge

Must be a practicing Catholic and a member in good standing of a Catholic parish.
Bachelors level education, preferably in theology, catechesis, or related field.
Previous experience preferred.
A solid foundation in Catholic teaching with a willingness to keep learning.
Position requires some understanding of catechetical processes as they pertain to children, youth, and young adults.

Skills and Abilities

excels in written and oral communication.
able to lead volunteers and make timely decisions.
able to plan, organize, and meet deadlines.
able to implement age-appropriate instructional materials and methods of teaching.
proficient in Microsoft Office software, the internet, and all basic office equipment is required.
able to relate interpersonally with youth to effectively accompany them spiritually.

Duties and Responsibilities

Organize, plan and implement a 1st through 11th grade religious education program.
Recruit necessary volunteers and ensure compliance with Safe Environment protocols.
Evangelize our young people through the witness of a personal life of faith and service, as well as through small groups, retreats, Catholic community, and mission trips.
