Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School (BLR) is a co-ed PreK-12 school with an enrollment of 300 students in the Diocese of Austin. Located in Waco, Texas, BLR has a rich history of both athletic and academic excellence that spans over six decades.

BLR has an immediate opening for a part-time Elementary Catholic School Music Teacher. The music teacher is responsible for organizing two annual concerts (Christmas and Spring) where classes at each grade level sing hymns or melodies appropriate for the occasion. Experience with and familiarity of Catholic music is preferred.

The music teacher will:

1. Provide a grade-appropriate elementary instructional music education program of engaging and interactive activities/songs for various grade levels from 3-year olds in pre-kindergarten up to 11-year olds in 5th
2. Maintain high professional standards consistent with our school's mission and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
3. Assess and document student progress.
4. Implement lesson plans, utilizing techniques to motivate, challenge and engage students.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in music or related field from an accredited university.

Certifications and Training:

Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCED.

Teaching experience preferred, but not required.

Must submit (according to Diocese of Austin policy) an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment, participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 60 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry, and maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.

Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
