About the Employer

St. Patrick Catholic Church is a large size community and parish family in Hutto, Texas, with a
robust culture of generous hospitality. Our mission is to walk with Jesus and one another as a
family striving for holiness. The Music Ministry Coordinator's primary role is to ensure that those
who come to St. Patrick feel welcomed, feel loved, and that they receive Jesus Christ because
everyone is part of the family. Moreover, part of the role of the Music Ministry Coordinator
(MMC) is to help others be spiritually fed and become inflamed with love for the Lord through
the prayer of the Church, so that we can respond to the great commission of Jesus to "go out and
make disciples of all nations" (cf. Matthew 28:19).

About the Job

The MMC should be a person who is a joyful missionary disciple that loves to serve the Church
and help to further our mission at St. Patrick. The MMC will work closely with the Pastor,
Deacons, Liturgy Coordinator, other staff members and volunteer disciples in fostering one of our
core values of building a culture that exhibits joyful faith.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active, committed Catholic, familiar with the Roman Catholic Liturgy
• Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent experience
• Demonstrable expertise with a lead instrument
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred
• Able to play an instrument and sing at the same time
• Collaborative in style, competent coordinator and administrator with the ability to
communicate effectively
• Able to work with technology and possess computer skills
• Experience in leadership in a volunteer environment

Responsibilities of the position:

• Active study of liturgical music, liturgical law, and diocesan policies in regards to
church music.
• Has an active prayer life and expresses their prayer life regularly.
• Assist Pastor, Liturgy Coordinator and Faith Formation Director (FFD) in the
development, administration, coordination and implementation of the music for liturgies
and liturgical celebrations.
• Plans and coordinates the music program to shepherd a thriving and diverse music
ministry in order to facilitate the full and active participation of the congregation.
• Coordinates schedule for all parish music ministries and musicians; Works with
volunteer choir leaders for the English and Spanish Mass to make sure that those Masses
are covered.
• Trains cantors/musicians.
• Works with all musicians to enhance the Sunday experience; this includes but is not
limited to rehearsals prior to each Mass.
• Attend staff and liturgical committee meetings when scheduled.
• Supervises the purchase and maintenance of parish musical equipment and materials
with approval from the Business Manager
• Working knowledge and care for the A/V system; working with A/V team for quality
streaming of liturgies
• Responsible for accompanying at least one Mass per weekend and those for every Holy
Days and attending appropriate staff meetings unless otherwise noted.
• Availability to cover other Sunday liturgies, Feast days and solemnities when necessary
• Responsible to provide music or coordinate coverage for Funerals
• Abide by the parish employee manual and code of conduct
• Maintain an appropriate degree of personal decorum, confidentiality and
professionalism in attire, disposition, and interaction with others
• Maintain and ensure compliance with licensing requirements for music used at Sunday
and Holy Day Masses.
• Update slides and music selections in a timely manner to better improve the Sunday
experience in.
• Contact and update all choir members of any changes or updates.
