This is both to facilitate an understanding of the firm's capabilities by current and prospective clients, and to support the recruitment of talented attorneys and business professionals.
Dinsmore is seeking a Nurse Paralegal at our Cincinnati, OH location. The position is for a licensed nurse who will consult on all medical aspects of the Firm's medical malpractice, personal injury, tort, and product liability cases in a large firm setting. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison between medical experts and attorneys, providing explanations and understandings of medical literature and its application to cases.
Responsibilities
  • Provides consultation, research, and investigation of medical records
  • Provides medical record chronology, summary, and/or analysis
  • Researches medical literature for cases
  • Provides anatomy and pathophysiology education to attorneys
  • Analyzes pre-deposition and post-deposition transcript data on expert witnesses
  • Provides pre-trial and trial support for attorneys
  • Investigates potential medical billing irregularities
  • Researches and recommends medical experts
  • Provides data and assistance to medical experts
  • Conducts document reviews
  • Direct contact with clients
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Ability to perform high-quality billable work and record time in accordance with client/firm policy
  • At least 5 years of clinical nursing experience with valid state registered nursing license
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree in nursing, public policy, or similar field preferred
  • Legal Nurse Consultant Certificate (LNCC) preferred
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization, preferably in the healthcare management or legal, or other professional services industries.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and able to learn new computer software systems as needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed leader with the ability to build relationships through high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, judgement, and discretion in line with the firm's client service expectations
  • Full understanding of HIPAA compliance; understands and complies with all other related regulatory requirements
  • Ability to build, drive, and maintain team morale
