Job Description

The Tag & Title Clerk prepares legal transfer documents for the Department of Motor Vehicles. She/He verifies and makes payoffs on powersports trade-ins.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS

• To model by example the Company’s mission statement by being an empowered, passionate and positive associate who provides exceptional personalized service to the Company’s guests and community. To live by the Standards of Excellence set forth by Dimmitt Automotive Group.
• Prepare tag and title documents for dealer tag agency.
• Submit all legal transfer documents to the DMV.
• Ensure that name and address files are updated on an ongoing basis.
• Process all wholesale deals and monitor wholesale receivable.
• Reconcile select accounts and schedules monthly, prior to month end.
• Properly represent the dealership to its customers and vendors in a friendly manner.
• Complete end of month accounting reports.
• Assist in completion of annual review/audit.
• Process tag and title applications for all new and used powersports deals. Ensure that all moneys are received, and personal checks are cleared before title work is submitted.
• Correct problems and rejects from counties and state as quickly as possible.
• File new, used and wholesale deal packets.
• Maintain file of title and registration paperwork for all powersports in inventory, including MSO for new powersports inventory.
• Handle all inquires regarding tag and title from customers and salespeople.
• Assist in any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Posting journal entries
• Monthly schedules-monitor various accounts and address issues as needed
• Miscellaneous accounting work

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two years of experience in a similar position or related field.
• Knowledge of DMV procedures regarding tag and title.
• Will be trained on dealership computer system. E-titling experience preferred.
• Able to meet critical deadlines for management as well as our guests.
