Dimensional Innovations is Hiring a Fabricator I Near Overland Park, KS

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Main Shop, this role is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday through Friday with the availability for overtime when necessary. The Fabricator I is a strong team player with a positive attitude, is willing to take direction as well as be a self-starter and enjoys working in a creative, problem solving, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:

  • Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions
  • Taking part in product development meetings
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications
  • Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
  • Marking cutting lines on material
  • Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are met
  • Maintaining a production schedule
  • Testing products for their functionality
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls
  • Reporting and detailing product malfunctions
  • Adhering to assembly safety standards
  • Improving processes as needed

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Ability to be a strong team player with a positive attitude and a great work ethic
  • Knowledge of fractions, decimals - both standard and metric- as well as basic geometry
  • Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Ability to use various measuring tools
  • Knowledge of fabrication shop procedures

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • 1-3 years of experience with finish carpentry, cabinet making, custom woodworking, finishing, and plastics required
  • Basic electrical skills are a plus but not required

This is an hourly (non-exempt) position.
