Digital Matter is a technology-first, data-led, marketing and media consultancy. Headquartered in New York, Digital Matter provides consulting and services in business transformation, privacy-first data strategy, and integrated media buying. We are currently looking for a Tableau Developer to join our expanding Data Science and Product division. 

The Role 

As the Tableau Developer, you will partner with media and consulting to enable faster decision making, data democratization, and self-service through building innovative, and scalable best in class data marts and dashboard solutions that deliver high-visibility dashboards and data insights to a portfolio of global retail and consumer clients.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting across both internal and client-facing Tableau dashboards.
• Prioritize design best practices, with a strong focus on user experience
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure that solutions align with business requirements and objectives
• Perform and document data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
• Create an analytics roadmap to ensure timely and effective methods on the extraction, assembly, and transfer of broad, complex sets of data
• Partner with data engineering to understand the data architecture and schema
• Review and improve existing systems and collaborate with teams to integrate new systems.
• Conduct unit tests and develop database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues.
• Develop and update technical documentation
• Create materials to support comprehensive user training for our Tableau solutions

• Intermediate to advanced Tableau development skills and knowledge of interactive data visualization best practices
• Experience developing and applying predictive models and other advanced statistical approaches in a corporate or consulting setting, preferably in a marketing, media, or retail context
• Extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and managing Tableau driven dashboards & analytics.
• Proficient in SQL, Tableau features, Data Optimization with a keen eye for design.
• A solid understanding of SQL, rational databases, and normalization.
• Competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
• Familiarity with database modeling and data warehousing principles.
• Programming skills in Python are preferred.
• Tableau Desktop Certification
• Experience with Tableau Prep is a plus
• Able to communicate insights clearly and successfully to influence decisions.6 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
