THE CHALLENGE ...

Are you a committed learner with insatiable curiosity? Passionate about sustainability? Value innovation with integrity? Digimarc is seeking a Manager of Quality Engineers to support the Research and Development teams. As a manager in a small fast-paced team, the candidate will need to collaborate closely with the research teams to brainstorm, propose ideas and technology, and deliver experimental results, software, and documentation to Digimarc teams, customers, and partners. 

The technology will be focused on applied research to develop watermarking and detection methods, models, and tools that support our content identification technology. These technologies must fit within customer and partner workflows that include a wide variety of challenging designs, printing, image capture, and detection devices. Our technology applications also have stringent aesthetic and detection robustness requirements under difficult usage and recycling conditions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO ...

  • Perform basic and applied research in digital watermarking, signal processing, image processing, and other fields related to watermark embedding and signal detection and estimation
  • Work with the research and internal departments to ensure Digimarc products meet the highest standards for quality
  • Collaborate closely across the organization but especially with the R&D and applied technology teams 
  • Provide clear documentation of activities and results
  • Work closely with Engineering customers to implement and optimize deliverables as needed
  • Perform repeatable, standardized test procedures that evaluate Digimarc’s digital watermarking technology applied to print as well as digital workflows
Supervisory Responsibilities …
  • Develop personalized development plans for quality engineers, nurturing their professional growth and aligning their aspirations with the strategic objectives of the quality engineering team
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentorship not only to direct reports but also extend mentorship across multiple teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth
  • Demonstrate expertise in allocating resources, including personnel and tools, to support project needs across various teams 
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ...
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years experience in a team management position
  • A positive attitude and growth mindset: eagerness to learn, improve, and share knowledge with the team
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • An ability to coach the team on quality and testing and foster a quality culture
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Image processing
  • Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop
  • One or more scripting or programming languages
  • Demonstrated experience with quality control processes and data capture, with strong attention to accuracy and detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse, cross-functional team
  • Possesses strong technical curiosity, is self-motivated, collaborative, and able to prioritize tasks
  • Diverse technical skills and interests

$140,000 - $160,000 a year
PAY RANGE
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $140,000-160,000. Placement within this compensation range will be based on factors that are relevant to compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licensure, certifications, geography, and other business and organizational needs.
