Billing Specialist
Digestive Health Clinic, LLC has been established as an independent specialty GI practice in the Treasure Valley since 1978. We service two locations, with offices in Boise and Nampa. We are seeking a motivated Billing Specialist to join our devoted team of revenue cycle professionals. This position is vital to the revenue cycle functions that ensure timely processing of receivable accounts. Limited experience and/or entry-level candidates encouraged to apply. We are devoted to robust and comprehensive internal training.
*This is an onsite position, only. We are not seeking out of state applicants, nor service companies. *
Responsibilities included, but not limited to:
· Responsible for verification of insurance benefits for scheduled patient procedures to determine eligibility and coverage.
· Audits daily/weekly/monthly reports to ensure verifications have been completed timely.
· Completes detailed documentation of insurance benefit information per patient is accessible on the EMR.
· Documentation is expected to be clear and accessible to all interdepartmental staff to aid in appropriate and timely scheduling.
· Effective time management to ensure all high priority verifications are completed based on moving timelines.
· Clear communication to peers regarding status of verification process for upcoming patients.
· Ensures providers and staff are current on changing verification requirements per payer if adjustments greatly deviate from established expectations.
· Shows commitment to learning the insurance claims process.
· Engaged in continually expanding billing knowledge and terminology.
· Maintains an interest in continually learning various components of the revenue cycle functions to support the overall objectives of the billing team.
· Keep abreast of any changes in policy and compliance regulations.
Educational requirements:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Technical education/training or college, a plus!
Experience requirements:
· Experience in a medical or insurance billing background, preferred, but not required.
· Understanding of insurance and some medical terminology, a plus!
Job Type/Expected Schedule and Hours:
· Full-time
· Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 – 40 hours per week
· Onsite in Boise location

From $18.00 per hour
