Dietary Solutions is seeking an experienced Dietary Manager to join its team of dietetic professionals.
Job Purpose:
To provide interim coverage relating to Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) work scope during a determined or short period of time at multiple locations throughout the year or when needed.
Directs the overall operation of the Food and Nutrition Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Ensures that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis, and that the Food and Nutrition Services Department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensures the food offered to residents, guests, and employees of the facility is of superior quality.
Directs and conducts safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs
Maintains excellent relationships with residents, guests, vendors, and food and nutrition services department staff
Maintains department in "inspection-ready" state at all times
Implements menus in accordance with facility and or corporate standards to meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents
Ensures food is palatable, attractive, served at proper temperatures and appropriate times
Interviews residents or resident representatives within twenty-four (24) to seventy-two (72) hours of admission to identify food preferences and dietary needs
Implements and monitors facility and corporate dining programs
Completes dining room rounds regularly, visiting residents to evaluate the quality of meals served, resident acceptance of meals, and overall dining experience
Makes reasonable efforts to accommodate resident choices and preferences related to food and dining
Recruits, hires, disciplines, and supervises a full complement of staff.
Onboards, trains, and promotes professional growth and development of the food and nutrition services team
Develops work schedules and prepares work assignments while complying with budgetary requirements
Monitors and documents competency and skills of food and nutrition services personnel and makes necessary adjustments/corrections as required
Requirements:
Specialized training in foodservice management and nutrition meeting at least one (1) of the following criteria:
Recognized as a registered dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Recognized as a registered dietetic technician or nutrition and dietetics technician by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Nutrition associate holding a 4-year degree in nutrition or dietetics
Associate's degree or higher in food service management or in hospitality, if the course study includes food service or restaurant management, from an accredited institution of higher learning
