Our Deli/Seafood department is one of the differentiators at Dierbergs. This is an opportunity to step into a management role focused on providing quality products and ensuring each customer receives stellar service.Responsibilities include:
•Assisting the Deli/Seafood Management Team in running a smooth and efficient operation
• Ordering and inventory management
•Overseeing the presentation and quality of all food products with a commitment to consistency, portion control and profitability
•Helping to train, develop and motivate Associates and build a strong, cohesive team
•Maintaining a clean and sanitary department and adhering to proper food-handling procedures, while keeping food safety top of mind
•Providing friendly, amazing service to every customer

What you need to succeed
• 2 years of food-service experience (deli, restaurant or quick serve), preferably in a supervisory role
•Ability to provide excellent customer service while also managing people to bring out their strengths
•Basic computer skills and ability to use iPad for customer orders, order pick up, and training
•A multi-tasker who enjoys an extremely fast pace and is willing to learn and excel at a wide variety of tasks
•Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures
•The flexibility to work a varied schedule, including nights and weekends - most Deli/Seafood departments close by 8pm!
Physical Requirements
•Lifting & Carrying - Up to 50 lbs. occasionally
•Pushing & Pulling - Up to 20 lbs. force occasionally
•Occasional - Sit, walk, kneel, stoop, squat, climb, overhead reach, & shovel
•Frequent – Head turn, trunk bend, side reach, grasp, power grip, pinch, finger manipulation, & feel
•Constant - Forward reach, standing, & handling
