Dickinson Center, Inc. has provided a continuum of mental health, intellectual disability, and children's prevention services in northwestern Pennsylvania since 1958. We are a progressive non-profit organization with almost 180 employees and an annual operating budget of nearly $10 million.

The mobile therapist (MT) provides direct treatment services to children, adolescents, and families following family systems theory, social ecological theory, behavioral therapies theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy theory, etc. Approaches to treatment include individual, family, and group therapies across a variety of settings: home, school, and community. Working in a team along with a behavioral health technician (BHT), the MT is the senior team leader and provides training, support, and supervision to the BHT.

This is a full-time position with non-traditional hours that may include evenings and weekends.

Education/Experience

  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist or clinical social worker.
  • Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a social worker or a behavior specialist and have a graduate degree that required a clinical or mental health direct service practicum from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Dept of Education or Council for Higher Education
  • Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree with a least nine credits specific to clinical practice in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the US Dept. of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation

Certifications, Licenses & Other Requirements

  • Possess a current and valid driver's license issued by your state of residence and be able to operate an agency and/or personal vehicle safely during various weather patterns whether it be daytime or nighttime
  • Be at least 21 years of age and have a driving record that meets the requirements of the DCI Vehicle Fleet Policy.
  • Have reliable transportation, as the job requires use of employee's personal vehicle.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is an advanced mental health professional position. The Mental Health Professional provides direct treatment services to children, adolescents, and families following family systems theory, social ecological theory, behavioral therapies theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy theory, etc. Working in a team along with two Behavioral Health Workers, the Mental Health Professional is the senior team leader and provides training and support to the Behavioral Health Workers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions

  •  Modeling and fostering an organizational culture of respect, cooperation, and service excellence.
  •  Documentation of important information and data in a timely and professional manner as prescribed by the clinical director.
  •  Preparing Treatment Plans, Discharge Plans and reviews, and making recommendations with regard to treatment planning with clients and their families.
  •  Ensuring that agency stipulated productivity levels are obtained on a weekly basis.
  •  Completing MA/Managed Care pre-certification and continued care requests in a thorough, accurate and timely manner.
  •  Coordinating all aspects of treatment for the clients and their families within their caseload in a professional and timely manner.
  • Completing Comprehensive Assessment to determine need of CSBBH within 48 hours of referral.
  •  Ensuring services are initiated within 1 day of verbal authorization by MCO.
  •  Ensuring initial CSBBH packets are submitted to MCO within 5 business days after ISPT.
  •  Completing Assessments, Crisis Plans, and Reassessments as needed.
  •  Participating as a member of the SAP/Child Study Core Team
  •  Using individual and family therapy when appropriate as a means of treatment. Preferred knowledge includes family systems theory and application, social ecological theory and application, behavioral therapies theory and application, cognitive-behavioral therapy theory and application, pragmatic family therapies theory arid application, and social skills assessment and intervention.
  •  Running Supervision meetings weekly for a minimum of 2 hours with each team to include the following topics:
    1. Discussion of roles in the family
    2. Triangulation in family relationships
    3. Building alliances
    4. Supporting parents
    5. Genogram depicting family history
    6. Ecomaps determining strengths of resources
    7. Areas for advocacy
    8. Mental health diagnosis of identified client and impact on family systems
    9. Community strengths mapping
    10. Transference and counter transference
    11. Role of team in family system
  •  Ensuring completion on a monthly basis and at the end of treatment Community Care's Child Outcome Survey (COS).
  •  Ensuring completion of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) by families and teachers, at admission, quarterly and at completion of services.
  •  Directing supervision and management of the daily functions of the department.
  •  Participating in continued education and training as required.
  •  Following all DCI policies and procedures, and federal and state regulations.
  •  Performing other tasks as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

  • Master's prepared, Licensed in Social work, Counseling, Psychology or Nursing.
  •  Management experience required, plus two years' experience in a CASSP systems program, OR
  •  Be a licensed registered nurse with five years of experience, including two in CASSP system program plus certification by the American Nurses credentialing center (ANCC) or American academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).
  •  Certification as a National Board Certified counselor is also acceptable.
