Auto-Pack Technician

Job Description

Location: Greenville, MI Department: Paint

Reports to: Production Team Leader Date: August 2022

Summary 

The Technician position at DNA will be responsible for operating the equipment and making sure all projects are completed on time for their specific area. They must also ensure that quality and safety are a top priority while working with the machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follows safety rules 100% of the time.
• Contributes to a safe work environment by following housekeeping guidelines. 

• Maintains good attendance.
• Follows instructions and works to meet daily job assignments and KPI’s.

• Strictly follow the instructions during operations, as well as maintenance of the equipment
• Cleaning of working areas
• Manage techniques, technologies, and tools of the process. 
• Operate Fanuc Robots, automatic foam machine & automatic banding machine and conveyor system for the Auto-pack process.
• Manually load skid pallets onto infeed conveyor in timely matter.
• Perform all required steps to complete changeover within required changeover window.
• Program vision system for new wheel types.
• Remove wheels from reject conveyor, label properly & place in reject area.
• Removal of rejected dunnage (dividers and pallets). Manually or with lift truck.
• Load foam as required to maintain inventory without disruption to process flow.
• Visually inspect wheels and place proper labeling per next process steps.
• Management of all consumables such as foam and banding materials.
• Properly complete daily equipment and process checklist(s).
• Process preparation work when changing wheel types in fast-paced environment.
• Providing technical support to on-site production.
• Auto-pack process improvements.
• Maintenance of all equipment for process, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition.
• Other duties as assigned or designated.
• Must be able to obtain Hi/Lo license.
• Perform Hi/Lo loading and unloading of materials when required to avoid process downtime.

Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and understand written documents

Physical Work Conditions

• Must be able to work in a hot environment
• Must be able to lift and move aluminum wheels of varying weight
• Must be able to lift 50 – 65 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours per day
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment when required
