A prestigious organization in Long Island-New York is looking to immediately hire qualified and responsible Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP) with at least two years of experience to provide advanced care to patients with psychiatric disorders. The center offers $100 to $125 per hour plus hefty employment packages for full-time only including paid time off (PTO), medical, dental, and vision insurance.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and diagnose patients on a psychosocial level and provide counseling sessions and other mental health resources to improve general well-being along with helpful coping techniques,
• Perform initial assessments of the patient's mental and emotional well-being using various techniques,
• Develop a treatment plan or interventions, diagnose behavioral issues, mental health, and emotional disorders, and offer individual, partner, or family counseling sessions, group therapy, or medication management as part of comprehensive treatment and teach strategies and skills that help individuals or families overcome challenges,
• Provide crisis intervention for patients with acute mental health issues, including assessment and treatment of emotional and behavioral problems.
• Coach patients on how to manage ongoing health conditions and provide therapy to help patients make positive behavior changes,
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists, and psychologists to ensure that their clients receive comprehensive care,
• Play an important role in advocating for their patients' rights. They work with community organizations and government agencies to ensure that their clients have access to the resources they need to maintain good mental health, and
• Documentation of services provided per requirements.

Qualifications:

• Board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP),
• Fluent in Spanish and able to converse proficiently with Spanish-speaking patients,
• Active New York state licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) for NY,
• 2 years of experience providing mental health care to patients across the lifespan,
• Master or Doctoral degree in nursing with a specialization in psychiatric mental health,
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practices for the treatment of mental health disorders, and
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,

Job Type:

• Part-time (1-3 days per week),
• Full-time (36-48 hours per week).

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 9-5 for full-time
Pay Level:

Benefits for full-time only:

• 21 days of paid time off (PTO) per year,
• Health insurance coverage: a 50% contribution rate of the monthly premium,
• No on-call responsibilities, and
