Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is Hiring a Behavioral Support Crisis Intervention Specialist (Immigrant and Refugee Services) Near York, PA

Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries is one of the premier employers in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We are a non-profit organization which includes Diakon Senior Living Services and Diakon Child, Family, and Community Ministries.
General Responsibilities:
  • Provides intensive, strength based, one-on-one support to clients in collaboration with the clinician and reflective of the youth's mental health treatment plan. 
  • Establishes relationships with youth, foster families, biological families, case managers, and other providers in order to deliver comprehensive services. 
  • Interviews clients, performs observations, and helps patients build a plan to address behaviors.
  • Customize behavioral and safety plans for individual clients.
  • Provides interventions for foster parents and care provider staff.
  • Childline & DHS FBI clearances and Act 168 forms and results need to be received prior to beginning employment.
  • Will need covid vaccine card.
Education/Training: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field of study from an accredited college required. Master's degree in Social Services or related field of study from an accredited college, preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents, strongly preferred. Prior experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations as well as developing and implementing behavioral or clinical support plans preferred. Bi-lingual English and Spanish strongly preferred. 
ADA: Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, reach, push, and pull items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills
