QC Lab Technician
Position Type: Full Time (permanent)

Diagnostic BioSystems is an FDA registered, cGMP compliant, ISO13485:2016 certified manufacturer and distributor of products for the pathology, histology, and cancer research markets. DBS was founded in 1994 and is based in Pleasanton, California.
DBS has an open opportunity for a full-time QC Lab technician. We are looking for a bright, upbeat self-starter, who is a team player. Responsibilities include quality control tests on antibodies, detection systems, and ancillary products used for Immunohistochemistry. Performs reagent formulation under guidance. Daily IHC runs on autostainer and/or manually to test antibodies and new reagents, including special projects involving development of new products.
Job Purpose:
Perform technical operations to ensure that a manufactured product or raw materials adhere to a defined set of quality criteria.
Duties description:
· To perform routine IHC testing of raw materials and manufactured antibody products according to established quality control procedures/permanent work instructions
· To have independent analytical ability to perform QC assays.
· To maintain and manufacture positive control slide product inventory.
· To prepare ancillary reagent/buffer products for IHC laboratory.
· To maintain tissue control stock.
· To operate automated IHC staining instruments.
· To prepare reports on assigned assays, processes, or quality control tests.
· To maintain laboratory equipment to assure accuracy and confidence in performance, and reports equipment problems to Quality Assurance or Laboratory Director.
· To be able to work closely with other departments in reaching company goals.
· To cut tissue block for histological and IHC staining.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor degree is preferred.
· College degree with laboratory experience and courses in the Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or Bioscience is desired.
· Able to perform all specific laboratory procedures and follow safety procedures
· Ability to meet deadlines and ensure successful product release in a timely manner
· Must be able to write clear and understandable documentation
· Good word processing and spreadsheet skills
· Familiar with antibody technology, especially a good understanding of proteins, enzymes, and the structures and functions of antibodies
· Able to work in a team environment
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be able to write clear and understandable documentation
· Strong communication skills – both oral and written
· Ability to adapt to changes in the organization.
· Experience with QC is a plus.
