The Stitzel-Weller Distillery, Louisville plays a key role in Diageo’s North American distillery portfolio. The Bulleit brand is undergoing significant growth and this role will be pivotal in ensuring that we continue to craft high quality whiskey to meet consumer demands. The Maturing Warehouse Manager is responsible for shipping/receiving, dump/fill barreling and blending operation. This proactive position leads a team of associates to deliver safe, highly efficient, maturing and warehousing operations. As a member of the site leadership team you will be integral in high level decision making impacting both short and long term business strategy guided by resource availability and functional objectives Key Accountabilities Zero Harm - Drive a culture of safety ownership, with a continuous focus on improving safe work practices. Work to eliminate safety hazards, respond quickly to any safety issues, and ensure continued safe operation. Effectively lead and develop a diverse, highly engaged associate team responsible for all aspects of maturing and warehousing operations. A strong leadership and communication skills is critical for this role. Drive a strong engagement platform and drive a continuous improvement culture. Embedding a strong Tier 1, feeding into Tier 2, leading and motivating the team to take accountability in all aspects of the balanced scorecard and morale, monitoring and optimizing process operations where possible. Deliver business strategy by linking Plant, Team and Individual performance. Set objectives and performance standards for Maturing team. Develop and deliver annual team training plans. Remain abreast of changes in maturing and warehousing equipment and technology, insurance regulations and government compliance related to Maturing operations. Deliver Key Performance Indicators of safety, quality and productivity. Deliver the annual Maturing plan and maintain the high quality of the product. Collaborate regularly with NA Whiskey planning team. Communicate production schedules and schedule changes to appropriate departments. Ensure all maturing data is accurate and input to the relevant business reporting systems in compliance with production protocols. Support Diageo’s industry leading environmental initiatives on reducing water, power and steam usage. Develop and implement Maturing budgets focused on labor, maintenance, utilities and consumables - continuously seek improvements or ways to decrease costs in order to deliver the most efficient operation e.g. annual loss/waste analysis. Collaborate with technical and engineering teams on new warehouse builds and other capital investments relating to Maturing activities. Ensure compliance with Diageo and regulatory requirements e.g TTB and EPA. Identify business risks and completes necessary change to achieve performance results. Build & influence relationships within Diageo supply sites and the broader North America business. Required Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, Supply Chain, Science or Engineering. Five plus years of experience in a distillery or manufacturing leadership role Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in fast-paced, agile and flexible environment with changing priorities Excellent financial and budgeting experience SAP experience preferred. Customer oriented.
