DHL eCommerce is Hiring a Lead Operations Trainer Near Texas, TX

SUMMARY:

The Lead Operations Trainer will facilitate, organize, support, and report on the DHL Onboarding program, "From Yes to More," under the guidance and direction of the site Training Manager. The Lead Operations Trainer is also responsible for the implementation and delivery of the front-line training program: "Training the DHL Way." This includes the development of Operations Trainers to successfully carry out the training program to achieve standardized processes and enhance the skills, knowledge, and abilities of employees to support high-performing teams, enhance company culture and increase employee retention. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the New Hire Onboarding program for the distribution centers called "From Yes to More."
  • Organizes coordinates all activities related to the "From Yes to More" with the Training Manager.
  • Supports employee training, development, onboarding, and retention efforts.
  • Conducts floor training for new hires, agency, and DHL current employees using the “4 Steps of Instruction” and “Getting Ready to Instruct” methods.
  • Provides training, coaching, and feedback to Operations Trainers in "Training the DHL Way" ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Ensures Operations Trainers are on task with work duties as needed and report any areas of concern to the Training Manager
  • Conducts on the job continuous training, cross-training, and retraining, including safety methods and production standards for employees in the distribution center Operations department
  • Supports the creation of job breakdowns, job aids, and job Instructions that are used to train front-line staff.
  • Responsible for creating daily reports of training activities in designated tools, documents, and share sites
  • Collaborates with the Operations management team on employees' progress and recommends actions for improvement.
  • Provides feedback to Training Manager on course effectiveness based on observations/student feedback and recommends changes.
  • Supports with reporting on the training program results and performance.
  • Delivers in a variety of training mediums: operations floor training, online learning, classroom learning, and others.
  • Maintains and supports training for new process Implementations.
  • Supports other activities as requested.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma required. Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience as an Operations Trainer at DHL or equivalent industry experience.
  • Certified in the 10 Hour Training the DHL Way Program - training to be provided by DHL.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Basic skills in the Microsoft Office Suites (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Training within Industry (TWI) is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable and fluent in all Departments: Encode, Inbound, Outbound, Receiving.

  • Strong coaching, teaching, and leadership skills
  • Be a role model for Training the DHL Way to all front line staff and Operations Trainers
  • Excellent oral communication, writing, and reporting skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to plan, multi-task, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to organize and manage concurrent projects and priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate and partner with all levels in the organization
  • Action-oriented, self-starter who can delegate and be hands-on as situations deem appropriate.
  • High energy with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be forward-thinking, committed to continuous improvement, and be excited to continually develop the skills of team members. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Walkabout the office and warehouse to access training materials, office machinery, and products.
  • Unload supplies and other materials weighing up to 20 pounds to organize or deliver to end-user.
  • This is a warehouse environment where frequently this position will be exposed to cold, hot and changing temperatures; will constantly experience noise at a medium level not damaging or loud enough to require protective equipment; will frequently be exposed to dust, dirt, and changes in lighting.
  • May require periodic travel for off-site training
