DHD Consulting is Hiring a Cost Controller Near Naperville, IL

How will you contribute to the team?
 Utilizes background in construction, engineering or design to integrate well into complex and
large client organization with ease. Comfortable with changing dynamics and balancing new
client initiatives.
 Comfortable utilizing a variety of technology tools to create reporting, dashboards and analyze
data for process improvements. Works with different enterprise software solutions to extract data
and contribute to program reporting.
 Strong written and verbal communication skills to effect change and drive improvements client-
side. Ability to present and pitch ideas to senior leadership.
 Responsible for developing, implementing, reconciling and maintaining valuable project control
databases and reports for projects.
 Manage and ensure the reconciliation of program controls data with financial and performance
systems, coordinating with Project Managers.
 Managing large data sets and manipulating them using excel formulas and pivot tables to glean
insights
 Verify the accuracy of all cost information including confirmation that costs have been properly
coded and allocated to the project budget.
 Produce required accounting and project cost reports including analysis on deviations, under-runs
and over-runs.
 Prepare forecasts and cost trend reports.
 Review and evaluate trends and their impact on project costs.
 Monitor project costs and commitment to budget and forecast.
 Maintaining change control and the change order register.
 Prepare month end accruals and work with the central accounting team to ensure all costs are
accounted for during month close cycles
 Supports the Project Manager in monitoring and addressing project billing issues and anomalies,
both internal and external.
 Reviews invoices received from Contractors before passing to manager.
 Follows up with Contractors, when necessary, regarding questions or clarifications to their
invoice.
 Assists the Client Project Manager in tracking and updating the project budget.
 Provides updates to company's management and maintains integration between service sectors
and AtkinsRealis disciplines.
 Implements project review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with company's
methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of engagements as measured by
regional goals and customer satisfaction.
 Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
What will you contribute?
 Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, Accounting, Quantity Surveying or a related field,
plus five years relevant experience.
 Minimum 2 years of experience in Project cost management
 Experience working with utilities projects is a plus but not required
 Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong
decision making abilities. Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
 Must have excellent Excel skills and command of pivot tables, Vlookups, Xlookups, data filtering
and other formulas for management of large data sets
 Must possess a thorough understanding of Project Management, Building Design & Construction,
Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, Building Cost Modeling, Cost Management, Accounting
Accruals and Risk Analysis.
 Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work
including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and
Microsoft Project.
 Project Management Professional (PMP) [certified by the Project Management Institute (PMI)
Global Accreditation Centre (GAC)] and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) [certified by the
Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI), an independent administrative body of the
Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)] highly desirable but not required.
