Dexter Fastener Technologies is Hiring a Document Control Coordinator Near Dexter, MI

The Document Control Coordinator will be responsible to organize, maintain, audit, and improve the documentation system for the manufacturing and distribution buildings. This includes but is not limited to work instructions, forms, drawings, check sheets, and control plans. In addition, this position will schedule, track, and develop training resources for both the quality and environmental systems.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Sort and maintain the electronic and digital files for all documentation ensuring only released and approved documents are available to the manufacturing processes.
  • Standardize the format and storage of all documentation to be consistent and accurate.
  • Work closely with the Engineering and MIS departments to improve the distribution and use of all forms of documentation integrating digital forms, signatures, and processes where they add value.
  • Maintain training records and identify training changes based on the documentation updates.
  • Schedule and track training statuses for all departments and develop training materials to support this. Monthly reporting to management for all departments.
  • Conduct initial employee training for new hires related to the documentation and basic procedures.
  • Audit and update all records to ensure compliance with the IATF, ISO, and customer requirements.
  • Design and maintain record filing systems and locations as needed.
  • Make changes to all the documents using a standard system and database which tracks changes for traceability concerns.
  • Ensure the department approvals and reviews of new documents and changes are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Distribute paper and digital copies as needed with the primary goal of accurate document control but incorporating technology and new systems wherever possible.
  • Assist the Engineering and sales departments to maintain customer, quality, environmental, and safety standards ensuring all copies are up to date.
  • This position must be able to prioritize, manage time, and multitask as needed. Excellent communication skills are required for internal and external communications with members, auditors, and customers. Database systems and Document Control cloud based programs will be used.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required.
  • Ability to write, edit, and proofread business correspondence, proposals, procedural manuals, and other written material.
  • Must have a high level of organization and ability to multi-task within several independent efforts.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to interact with all levels of the Company.
  • Requires the ability to exercise independent judgment.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates or Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Prior experience with data and document management.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Comfortable working on manufacturing shop floor.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
