• Position: Denials Subject Matter Expert
• Location: Remote - some travel to California (0-25%)
• Duration: 3 months

Summary: The Denials Subject Matter Expert will provide experience and guidance related to denials (both clinical and administrative); approach to review of data; mitigation of denials; parse out denials and provide senior guidance to the consulting team.

Required skills:

• Working knowledge of denials and appeal processes including an understanding of contracts and payer policies.
• Familiar with current medical terminology.
• Understanding of the healthcare (specifically hospitals) revenue cycle process.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
• Able to work independently and to meet deadlines.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a healthcare setting (preferably hospitals).
• Ability to define problems, collect data, validate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Computer Skills: Working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel and Outlook).
• Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree. Minimum of three years experience in a healthcare setting (preferably hospitals).
