Dewey's Bakery, Inc. is Hiring a Sanitation - 1st shift Near Salem, NC

Dewey's Bakery is currently seeking qualified individuals to fill the position of Sanitation. This position is located in our manufacturing facility.

Position - Sanitation

Shift - 1st

12-hour workday (6am - 6pm)

This position is full time, with complete benefits package

On the job training

Previous experience working in manufacturing facility, operating industrial-sized specialized equipment is preferred.

This position is primarily responsible for cleaning the entire facility and any storage facilities by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Follows the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules of facility and other policies and procedures.
Follows all Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).
Is able to identify potential food safety concerns and reports to the Sanitation Supervisor or Production Manager.
Attempts to prevent all foreign materials from contaminating the food.
Reports food safety and quality problems to personnel with the authority to initiate actions.
Controls allergens and ensure there is no cross contamination.
Completes paper documentation accurately.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Communicates clearly with management and with other sanitation employees.
Understands equipment functionality and the lock out tag out program.
Has knowledge of or willing to learn how to operate a scissorlift and forklift
Properly handles all chemicals and apply to appropriate surfaces
Is accountable for the safety of the food and the people working in the facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Communicates well with other staff members.
