Developing Potential, INC. is Hiring a Direct Support Professional (DSP) Near Independence, MO

Developing Potential, Inc. is currently hiring full time Direct Support Professionals.

As a Direct Support Professional you will:

  • Work Monday - Friday in a day shift position. No weekends, or holidays.
  • Teach individualized socialization and living skills to individuals having developmental disabilities through a culture of gentleness and respect.
  • Develop and implement daily programs for each individual assigned in a team or 1:1 setting in regards to program goals, independent living skills, self-help skills, life skills, self-advocacy in learning preferences/choices/communication skills, and community integration skills as well as other goals as indicated in the individual’s annual plan.
  • Implement training goals for program participants.
  • Support program participants with personal care needs such as toileting, assistance with lunch, ROM, sensory needs, using Hoyer lifts, etc.
  • Complete all documentation/charting by using the computer system. If you have experience with Therap, that's a plus!
  • Implement community volunteer site activities and on site program/school activities.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • A valid driver’s license, current auto insurance and a reliable vehicle.
  • One year of relatable experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A stable work history
  • It is not required, but if you are a CNA, that's a plus!

DPI’s program focuses on building strengths, fostering independence, changing lives, and developing potential. This mission drives DPI’s program services and the commitment DPI has to helping individuals achieve an adult, dignified lifestyle.
