Overview

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to work within our Equity Risk and Pricing team and being responsible for the technical delivery of a number regulatory, and business and cost-save projects, incl. support for new equity business trading, FRTB, trade prevention controls and Google Cloud adoption program with experience of re-platforming and re-architecting solutions onto Cloud; You will be a hands-on technical lead providing technical direction and oversight of the solutions. As well as understanding technical platforms, the roles require product knowledge of Equities and Equity Derivatives both Exchange Traded and OTC products, incl. lifecycle and both upstream and downstream intraday and EOD reporting; With responsibility for engineering through delivery you will consistently review designs and quality, drive re-use while playing a pivotal role in improving our GCP engineering capability. You will make strategic design decisions and define engineering approaches that can be disruptive, with the goals of simplifying architecture, reducing technical debt, leverage features and engineering benefits of the Google Cloud and most critically, ensuring that the Equity Risk and Pricing team are positioned to successfully deliver the Business, regulatory, audit and technology book of work.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for end-to-end technical delivery with specific focus on risk reduction, regulatory, audit, business and cost save deliverables across the Cary Equity Risk and Pricing team

  • Design technical solutions for to achieve business goals contributing to revenue growth with specific focus on Equity products

  • Lead deep-dive reviews of technical solutions designs produced by professionals/teams and advise on improvement and ensures compliance with strategy, architecture standards and re-use of existing assets

  • Collaboration across the TDI areas such as Cloud Platform, Security, Data, and Risk & Compliance to create optimum solutions for the Business, increasing re-use, creating best practices, and sharing knowledge

  • Enabling the adoption of practices such as SRE and DevSecOps to minimize toil and manual tasks and increase automation and stability

  • Build and mentor an existing high performing and innovative team based in Cary

How You'll Lead

  • Responsible for the product delivery from your development team in Cary and will work closely with our business sponsors in the Fixed Income business

  • Will perform yearly objective setting for your team and twice-yearly performance evaluations of your team with a goal towards their professional growth

  • Will interact with the broader Equity Risk and Pricing / IB tech groups in other development and business centres (Bangalore, New York, London)

Skills You'll Need

  • A seasoned lead engineer, focused on building working examples and reference implementations in code using Java, Spring Boot, GRPC, CI/CD tools like TeamCity, uDeploy, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes etc

  • Hands-on experience in implementing applications onto Cloud platforms and usage of their major components (Software Defined Networks, IAM, Compute, Storage etc.), workflow automation to define cloud native applications

  • Proven record of automation-first approaches to testing, deployment, security, and compliance of solutions through infrastructure as code and automated policy enforcement

  • Thorough understanding of knowledge of Equities and Equity Derivatives products both Exchange Traded and OTC products, incl. lifecycle and both upstream and downstream intraday and EOD reporting

  • Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with a variety of partners and stakeholders with proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific areas

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $203,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
