Job Overview
This position is responsible for developing business logisticservices for a portfolio of preferred carriers to create lane density. Theindividual will have complete oversight, autonomy and authority to negotiatepricing and accept/decline business. The carrier manager must effectively buildlong-term strategic relationships with a variety of carriers to readily securecapacity as needed.
What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)
·Responsible for carrier prospecting, management,negotiations and relations leading to a strong long-term strategic partnership.
·Monitor and assess carrier portfolios, continuallystrengthening relationships with existing carriers, and finding and developingnew carriers.
·Leverage brokerage pricing techniques and tools, andmarket awareness and knowledge to effectively secure business while buildingthe carrier portfolio.
·Able to assess risk and guard against unforeseen riskto the company and recommend solutions and counsel others.
·Have a strong workingknowledge of a strategic carrier capacity and network.
What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills,attributes)
·BA in Business Management, Logistics or likediscipline, or combination of education and logistics expertise, or customerservice/sales experience.
·Experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation,or like experience.
·Proficient in negotiating, sales or broker experience.
·Advanced communication (written and verbal),organizational, and problem solving skills.
·Ability to deliver exceptional service throughpositive engagement and patience.
·Ability to work in a team environment to continuouslyimprove results.
·Ability to promote a culture of trust and safety.
·WORKING CONDITIONS This position will be required towork in an office environment with moderate noise levels, and, with or withoutreasonable accommodation is required to: • Remain in a stationary position forextended periods of time. • Frequently operate a computer for extended periodsof time and regularly operate other office productivity machines. •Occasionally ascend/descend stairs and move up to 20 pounds of office objects.• Frequently communicate with peers, supervisors, third parties, and otheremployees to exchange accurate information and answer questions. • Occasionallyattend meetings in buildings outside corporate office and at off-site locationswith various internal conditions, and requiring travel in various externalconditions.
