Detroit Quality Staffing is Hiring a Plant Manager Near Sellersburg, IN

DQS is looking for an experienced Plant Manager for a new automotive facility!

*Plant Manager experience in automotive or logistics is required *

Primary Purpose of Position

Reporting directly to the VP of Deputy Director of Operations, the position holder is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction and overall Profit & Loss of the manufacturing site to meet the company’s overall objectives. The Plant Manager provides guidance and direction to a key management team to ensure that adequate planning, continuous improvement, on time delivery, safety, quality, staffing, training and development take place to achieve customer requirements in a timely, safe, and environmentally responsible manner. The focus of this role is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Achievement of objectives and goals in accordance with the Annual Business Plan is critical, while using KPI measurements to align the various departments with the Annual Business Plan. Adheres to all local, regional, and national legislation and regulations.

Major Responsibilities of Position

  • Safety: Actively promote, achieve and maintain safe working habits, good housekeeping and friendly environmental practices throughout the facility, while leading by example.
  • Develop the Annual Business Plan ensuring it fits the plant’s capacity and capital investment plans.
  • Drive the business with the help of Business Development, to fill available capacity with programs which achieve the required return on investment.
  • Communication: Encourage and maintain open communication channels between teams and supporting functions to ensure both are heard and understood. Monitor and communicate relevant information. Ensure the flow of necessary information within and among teams.
  • Conflict Resolution: Support by providing a neutral viewpoint and advice to employees and teams in order to find appropriate solutions to problems.
  • Leadership: Lead by example and presence within the facility. Demonstrate positive and proactive attitude (environment and culture) where people feel free to participate in problem solving and decision making processes. Promote team ownership and accountability through empowerment, responsibility, and authority.
  • Goals: Coordinate the establishment and focus on team goals, production objectives, utilization of plant facilities, equipment, materials, staff and key performance indicators; improve profitability and positive cast flow.
  • Budgets: Responsible for the budgets, reports, and subsequent results.
  • Policies: Ensure that facility upholds and maintains Corporate Environmental and Quality Policies and promotes the company Vision, Core Values, and Operating Principles.
  • Environmental Management Team: Responsible for ensuring continuous improvement by reviewing objectives and targets as well as internal/external customer concerns; review audit results and EMS program elements and establishing action items and recommendations in accordance with ISO 14001 Standards.
  • Quality / Improvement: Ensure effectiveness of system by continually challenging it. Ensure as a minimum, Quality Systems meet customer and 3rd party compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Coordinate activities, and the formulation of policies and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the manufacturing facility, always striving for improved results.
  • Customer Relations: Ensure appropriate quality, quantity and timing on all parts, making improvements as needed. Maintain focus on customer related issues, ensuring that customer inquiries and problems are addressed quickly and appropriately.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required, including special projects as they arise.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
