Job Description

As we continue to grow rapidly, we're seeking a highly-driven individual with solid foundational general accounting experience. The Staff Accountant will help support tremendous growth in a shared service environment. This opportunity will focus on day-to-day transactional accounting (with a focus on accounts payable) and play a key role in supporting the broader team with the monthly financial close.

As part of our team, your core responsibilities will be to:

• Analyze and reconcile key accounts
• Complete various project-based work as needed to implement greater efficiency, scalability, and control
• Work closely with the commercial team to ensure that revenue is recorded and cash is collected timely and applied correctly
• Ensure compliance with ASC 606 including month end cut off
• Ensure sales tax is reconciled between NetSuite and Avatax and filings are made timely and accurately
• Ensure all payables are properly coded and recorded to the correct company/GL account
• Review and process expense reports while ensuring conformity with company policies
• Audit corporate card charges, coding, and reconcile against monthly statements
• Support month-end close processes for pre-paid expenses and fixed assets as needed
• Investigate and resolve employee and vendor AP-related issues

Qualifications

Baseline skills/experiences/attributes:

• Minimum 6-8 years of combined public accounting and private industry experience
• Experience in eCommerce and omnichannel business models
• CPA or equivalent license a plus

Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):

• Technical accounting expertise
• An analytical mind
• Negotiation skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships
• Commercial and business awareness
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal
• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
• Ability to stick to time constraints
