Destiny Springs Healthcare is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist who is interested in working within the hospital setting. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with EHR and EDI; Medworxs, Waystar, ICA Notes or similar programs, and will have a proven record of strong medical collections skills. A successful candidate will work independently and will report to the Business Office Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work aging reports as assigned to effectively collect outstanding medical claims.
• Phone insurance companies for status on outstanding claims.
• Work correspondence and denials daily.
• Verify eligibility and benefits in appropriate insurance portals.
• Assist patients with AHCCCS enrollment process.
• Print and re-file claims as needed.
• Process and follow up on reconsiderations and appeals to insurance companies.  Print and re-file claims as needed.
• Completes work within authorized time to assure compliance with departmental standards.
• Keeps updated on all third-party billing requirements and changes for insurance types within the area of responsibility.
• Performs other duties as required. Competencies:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Microsoft windows environment with Office Suite to include formatting and production of word processing documents, spreadsheets, and reports. Ability to use tools for video conferencing, as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as personal computer/computer software programs, telephones, paging systems, copy machine, filing cabinets, and facsimile machines. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma/GED. Bi-Lingual is a plus.

Minimum of one year of experience in medical collections or equivalent working knowledge preferred.

Must have strong knowledge of resolution to payor denials.

Comprehensive background check and level one fingerprint clearance required. EOE.
