Job Summary

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort
• Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs
• Stay current on new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine
• Provide emergency care as needed
• Perform surgery as needed
• Educate clients on preventive healthcare and health-related issues
• Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols
• Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service
• Adhere to all practice protocols, philosophies, and standards of care
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

• Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
• 0 to 10 years of practice experience
• Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Florida
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards animals
