Full Time Medical Director - Multiple Veterinary Practices

We are currently seeking a professional and dynamic Veterinary Medical Director for our multiple veterinary practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing medical leadership, oversight and support to our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, as well as our clients. The Medical Director must possess a current DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent degree.

The Medical Director will be responsible for developing practice protocols, clinical standards and medical policies, with an emphasis on providing the highest quality of medical care to our patients. The Medical Director will provide guidance to the veterinary staff on animal health issues, disease management and treatment plans, and will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of veterinary services provided by the practices. The Medical Director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a productive and collaborative relationship with other veterinary practices, veterinary specialty providers and other veterinary referral centers.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients and staff. The Medical Director must have strong decision-making skills, and be able to handle multiple tasks efficiently. The individual must also have a strong sense of customer service, and be able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain practice protocols, clinical standards and medical policies
• Provide guidance to the veterinary staff on animal health issues, disease management, and treatment plans
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of veterinary services provided by the practices
• Develop and maintain relationships with other veterinary practices, veterinary specialty providers and referral centers
• Perform medical assessments, diagnoses, and treatments
• Administer anesthesia, drugs, and other medications as required
• Provide preventive care, including vaccinations, spaying, and neutering
• Perform surgery and other medical procedures
• Provide client education on animal health and disease prevention
• Prepare and maintain medical records
• Demonstrate the highest level of customer service and professionalism at all times

Qualifications

• Current DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent degree
• Years of experience in the veterinary field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong decision-making skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
• Strong sense of customer service
• Ability to work as part of a team
