Medical Director - Multiple Veterinary Hospitals

We are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, and dedicated Medical Director to join our veterinary team. As the Medical Director, you will be the leader of our veterinary hospitals, leading our teams of veterinarians and staff in providing exceptional patient care and customer service. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a medical team that is knowledgeable in the latest medical practices and technologies, and that consistently delivers the highest level of care to our patients and their owners. Responsibilities

• Leadership and oversight of multiple veterinary hospitals, including the recruitment, training and management of veterinarians, staff and other personnel.
• Maintain and promote the highest standards of medical care.
• Develop and implement medical protocols, policies and procedures in accordance with current veterinary standards.
• Oversee the medical staff, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and the quality of our medical care.
• Provide medical oversight and guidance to veterinary staff and other personnel.
• Review medical cases and advise on treatment options.
• Develop and implement medical programs to improve patient care.
• Provide medical consultation, advice and education to veterinary staff, management and other personnel.
• Participate in the development and implementation of marketing programs.
• Participate in the development and implementation of financial management systems.
• Assist in the development of new and existing business opportunities.
• Participate in the development and implementation of quality assurance programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Veterinary Medical degree from an accredited university.
• Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state.
• At least 5 years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of veterinary medicine and current veterinary standards.
• Proficient in veterinary software.
• Experience as an Associate Veterinarian preferred.
• Medical Director works a five (5)-day work week, including four (4)-days clinically as the primary doctor on schedule, rotating their availability throughout the clinics in their region, as well as one (1) day working on administrative projects and assignments.
