Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Lead Veterinarian to join our team. As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing medical care and treatment to a variety of animals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to diagnose illnesses and injuries
- Develop and implement treatment plans for animals based on their specific needs
- Perform surgeries, including spaying and neutering, as well as dental procedures
- Administer vaccinations and medications to prevent and treat diseases
- Provide emergency care to injured or critically ill animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive measures
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and other staff members to ensure the highest quality of care for animals
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
- Valid state veterinary license
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and husbandry practices
- Experience in animal restraint, handling, and pet care
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests and interpreting results
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care and experience in surgical procedures is preferred
- Dog training or pet grooming experience is a plus
