Design Interactive is Hiring a Research Associate I/II Near Orlando, FL

Purpose of Position:
Perform functions to support project activities and associated tasks related to research and development efforts, including physiological sensing, wearables, team dynamics, and adaptive automation.
Primary Responsibilities:
Accountable to:
  • Capture, summarize, and share key moments of discussion and decision making for relevant project meetings and activities
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, summaries and quantitative analyses of assigned research projects.
  • Research literature related to specific projects or proposals.
  • Contribute to writing manuscripts for publications and the development of bid proposals (e.g. tables, charts, figures).
  • Support research and end user evaluations of interactive systems/product concepts, analyze data, and document evaluation methods
Based on experience, may also be accountable for:
  • Lead internal meetings and day-to-day activities for assigned projects (user stories, backlog grooming, coordinating with development teams, etc.)
  • Communicate project status and related concerns and issues to program managers, including project schedules, proposals, risk mitigation and transition plans.
  • Translate user needs into detailed requirements specifications and design documents.
  • Plan and conduct research and end user evaluations of interactive systems/product concepts, analyze data, and document evaluation methods.
  • Support research with minimal guidance and assimilate results.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform or assist with any assignments as required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Education: B.S. or M.S. Preference for degrees in Engineering, Data Science, Human Factors Engineering, Experimental Psychology.
Experience:
Preferred minimum 1 yr experience leading and/or supporting research and development projects. Background in data science, machine learning, and/or advanced data analytics is a strong plus.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Requires excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Work autonomously in a structured team and provide technical guidance in area of expertise/study
  • Background in research and development techniques, such as determining end user behavior and preferences, design, statistical data analysis, and integrating requirement specifications into key documents
  • Requires proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office including, but not limited to word processing, spreadsheet design and maintenance, and creating presentations
Travel:
Position may require a moderate amount of local, overnight and extended travel to support research program requirements.
Physical Functions/Environment:
Physical requirements involve performing general office activities.
